Forests are the main source of wood whose role in our lives is of atmost importance. Wood has been used since ancient times by primitive men first to set fire for the cause of warming themselves , then to build their shelters , later on its use has been expanded to building ships , bridges , and even weapons , etc. Now a days, wood is the most important material used in decoration be it interior or exterior. Therefore, the result of deforestation will have direct negative effects on us through decreasing the amount of wood available and increasing its price in the market.
However, a better alternative for wood is found which is known as Wood Plastic Composite or WPC. This alternative, which is made from wood, PVC, and additives for interior decoration or wood, PE, and additives for exterior decoration, provides all the benefits and features that wood provides. It has the same shape as hardwood, because it is around 45% made from wood. And most importantly, it possesses better properties than wood such as it is fire retarding, waterproof, durable not needing treatment or maintenance, and has longer lifespan, etc. Most of the countries started replacing wood with WPC due to the benefits that it provides and for the sake of saving our forests on the long run.
